Scope and ContentThe interview covers the fact that he joined the Merchant Navy in Dar-es-Salaam and came to London in 1948, his work for the Great Western Railway as a fireman and the fact that he rejoined the Merchant Navy in 1954 as fireman/donkeyman. It also covers his move to Manchester 1966, where he worked for Greater Manchester Transport as a shed driver/handyman. It also discusses the Seamens' Mission, life as an immigrant, the Yemeni community in Manchester, religion, the Yemeni Immigrant Association and the Transport and General Workers' Union.
