Scope and ContentCorrespondence relating to establishment of the John Chamberlain Permanent Benevolent Fund. Most of the correspondence is between SC Porter, Secretary of the United Society of Brushmakers and CH Watkins, of Hamilton and Co., Brush Manufacturers, acting on behalf of the employees. There are also letters to and from solicitors firms, and single examples of letters to Porter from Alfred Masters, of the Bone Brush Makers Trade Protection Society, and W Warren, of the Amalgamated Society of Brushmakers.
