Scope and ContentAudio file and summary (Word file) of interview with Pam Latham, ex-employee of Ward and Goldstone.
Pam Latham worked for Ward and Goldstone from 1947 until about 1956. She worked in the printing and publicity department doing 'everything in the department', effectively running the department. Things such as her trip to work are described along with the different equipment they had in her department. She went on to meet her husband at the company, getting married in 1958, and suggests that a number of the office girls married men who also worked at the company.
Pam talks about the social side of things, including the social club, where table tennis was very popular. Earlier on a Christmas party was referred to at which an employee ended up dancing on a table. It is also worth noting that she could not remember any labour disputes. Overall she says that she enjoyed her time at the company although she did 'learn a lot of swear words there'.
