Scope and ContentEngraving by Charles Jameson Grant subtitled: DR LOCOCK, the Royal Man-midwife, having put his interdict on the Queen, who is within a month or six weeks of giving Taffy an heir to the mountains; it was resolved in Privy Council, to send the Speech alone, on the important mission of opening the ap-Peal Parliament. As soon as this resolution was publicly announced, an immense flock of Geese from all quarters suddenly congregated in the great metropolis, to witness the procession of the Important Document. The Speech was laid on the velvet cushion of the State-carriage, and the Queen's Parrot seated himself upon it, and all the men-at-arms did reverence to the Coach, the Speech and the Parrot, as if the Queen herself had been present; and the Geese stretched out their necks to see the Speech and the Parrot, but they COULDN'T. All the windows were filled with Geese, and the cackling was very great. Her Majesty, who has great experience in CARRYING BURDENS ordered an image of John Bull to be erected on the Carriage, with the National Debt on his back. The Geese admired this very much, and thanked Heaven that Her Majesty's burden whas not on HER BACK. An image of the Archbishop of Canterbury on a Pig, and another of a Tax-gatherer, gave the Geese most exalted notions of the glory and the happiness of the United Queendom
