Scope and ContentEngraving by Charles Jameson Grant subtitled: The Whigs are going out - bags and baggage - full of pickings and pensions, candle-ends and cheese-parings. The Tories are coming in with their implements of war. The Waterloo Slaughterman breaks open the door with the point of his tongue. The Tamworth Doctor follows close by, with his rat-trap full of leaden pills for OPERATIVE distress. Aberdeen is blowing his Bag-pipes full of wind upon "Intrusion" principles for the inspiration of the State Parsons. Stanlev is thimble-rigging, pretending that he never changes, and that it is all in your eye if you think so; he is dancing the Whitechapel shuffle. The Bishops come after, loaded with bills for Sunday coercion - new churches - and CO-LOAN-IAL Bishops upon Voluntary Principles or Pressure from WITHIN to squeeze the money out. Lyndhurst is dancing "Jim Crow" and the long tail of Placemen - Pensioners - Toad-eaters and other voracious animals bring up the rear - Tantarra, tantarra, tantarra - rogues all.
