Archival historyFelicity Ashbee (1913- 2008) was born in Chipping Camden and was living in Kent when she designed a set of posters for Spain. She was a member of the Communist party and involved in the Aid for Spain campaign. The posters were designed to go up in London tube stations but were banned as being too political. She was in later life a dedicated community activist in west London. The posters were exhibited at the inauguration of the Echoes of Spain Mosaic which was installed under the Westway on Portobello Road in west London in 2006.
