Archival historyThe Clarion Cafe was opened by Robert Blatchford in 1908 and had a Morris Room and an entrance designed by Walter Crane. Its aim was to cater for people who subscribed to socialist principles and it had many special visitors including James Connolly. It flourished for the next 25 years, finally closing in 1936.
