      Archival historyThe celebrations committee agreed to carry out the following: publish 10,000 copies of the society's history; provide a nurses home for Church District (estimated cost £300); donate £50 to Oswaldtwistle District Nurses Association; stage an exhibition of members over sixty; hold a children's gala and demonstration on the Sat 23 Jul. At the children's parade through the town the Society's yellow and blue banner was carried. One side of the banner had a picture of the central premises, on the other it had symbolic figures of Truth, Industry and Peace. Six brass bands accompanied the procession to the gala fields where the marching children were presented with this mug, coffee and a bun.
