Back text - 'In the autumn of 1936 Ellen Wilkinson MP led a crusade of 200 men on a march from Jarrow to London. On their way they told other communities of their plight. The petition they presented to Parliament spoke of the industrial depression that was afflicting their town. By the time of their final rally in Hyde Park the Crusaders had created an evocative and last symbol of the realities of unemployment'
