      Scope and ContentThere is an introduction by Christopher Hill, then a reenactment of the Putney Debates, which took place in Putney Church in 1647. At the end of the Civil War, the General Council of the parliamentary army met to consider the future of the English revolution. A shorthand record was kept of the proceedings, of which some survived, and from this Jack Emery compiled this radio presentation of The Putney Debates.
