Scope and ContentAn interview with Ernie Thomas, of the lightermen's union. There is a piece of paper with the cassette, describing what he said in the interview both and after the recording on the tape. As a stevedore, he describes work on barges in Wapping, apprenticeship, membership of the Union which was dominated by the right wing. His first day of work, membership of the YCL and changes in working practices pre and post war. [Difficult to hear sometimes]
