Scope and ContentWilf Charles was born in 1915 in Moss Side. He left school in 1929, and worked for a textile firm in Manchester. Father was politically motivated. Recalls the hunger marches and the Spanish civil war. Joined Moss Side branch of Communist Party, selling pamphlets. He speaks of a World War II meeting in Chorlton Town Hall, denouncing the war and calling on the Communist Party to oppose the war. Talks about the Communist Party during World War II.
