Scope and ContentAngela Tuckett reads her notes about Enid Stacy and her participation at Independent Labour Party conferences 1894 (Manchester), 1895 (Newcastle), 1896 (?), 1897 (London). Angela also quotes from "One hand tied behind us" by Jill Liddington (in the WCML Collection). One extract is the reply from Enid to a bigoted male writing in the Clarion. Enid was one of the few in the ILP who supported women's suffrage, and she campaigned vigorously for women's suffrage and for women's rights in general. Angela Tuckett probably made this recording as part of her research into the life of her aunt, Enid Stacy, when preparing to write her biography, "Our Enid" (in the WCML Collection).
