Scope and ContentFramed rosette with the text: Dorsetshire Labourers Centenary Celebrations, 1934. Portion of ribbon used in connection with the unveiling by the Rt. Hon. George Lansbury MP of the memorial stone erected over the grave of James Hammett, one of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, in the Tolpuddle Cemetery on Friday the 31st August 1934. The memorial stone was erected by the Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers, "The Builders", Clapham, London and excavated by its members from the Portland Quarries, Dorsetshire in recognition of a fellow craftsman
